What a Show...

...or should we say shows!

It only seemed like a few days after the Hampshire Open Studios exhibition in Highclere, and we were loading up our cars and setting off again, this time for Weyhill Gallery near Andover.  I guess we must be doing something right, because once again we were really pleased to be asked to continue our exhibition for an extra week, up to September 23rd.  (although 3 weeks next door to their lovely cafe is not so good for the waistline!)

We all enjoy putting our work together for a group exhibition and displaying the mix of jewellery, paintings, photographs, mixed media, ceramics and textiles - we learn a lot from each other in the process.

The next time we will be together is at Roots on November 11th.  In the meantime, hope you enjoy these pictures from our summer shows.

Made in the Hood joins Hampshire Open Studios

This August, Made in the Hood is proud to be joining the list of 180 artists and craftspeople who are opening their studios across the length and breadth of Hampshire. New Forest artist Pete Gilbert has done a tremendous job in compiling the brochure of artists, addresses and opening times, grouped into local areas so you can plan your route easily.
You are welcome to collect your brochure for this year's Hampshire Open Studios from the Made in the Hood stand at St Thomas's Fete on Saturday afternoon, 2 - 4 pm, July 7th,Rg20 9XF
We are entry 114, in the Andover to Highclere section, and we hope you will mark the dates in your diary and come along to visit us at the Westridge Studio 18th-20th August.

Made in the Hood arranges shared photo session for artists.

24th January and 7th February saw us at Newbury College photography studios under the expert guidance of Danny Mason. We had a great couple of hours learning how to take photographs of our crafts for websites and brochures. Having a shared photography event was great – everyone picked up photography and lighting tips with expert advice always on hand. I think we will be back! Thanks again to Danny.
